About CrochetSmith
A craft passed on.
A place to share it.
CrochetSmith is an independent crochet publication: patterns, lessons and honest guides for people who make things by hand.

Mohcen Leader
Founder and site lead
CrochetSmith began with something simple: crochet shared between a mother and her son. Mohcen leads the project and the publishing side of CrochetSmith, from its patterns to the guides you find in the Blog.
The story
Much of what CrochetSmith is built on came from Mohcen's mother, Samantha, and the craft he learned by watching and working alongside her. That hands-on tradition is the starting point for the site: a way of taking something learned at home and putting it in front of people who crochet, wherever they happen to be.
CrochetSmith is still young, and it is being built carefully rather than quickly. Patterns are marked as drafts until they have actually been test-stitched, and the guides are written to be genuinely useful rather than to fill space.
What we publish
- Patterns. Amigurumi, baby items, bags and home décor, written round by round with full stitch counts.
- Learning and stitch guides. A beginner path and a reference for individual stitches, in US terms.
- Yarn and tools. Practical guides to materials and equipment, written to help you choose, not to sell.
- The Blog. Editorial articles on technique, materials and care.
How we work
- Usefulness first. Every page should answer a real question a crocheter has.
- Plain explanations. We write for someone trying it for the first time.
- Honest status. Drafts are labelled as drafts until they are actually test-stitched.
- Respect for other designers. We do not republish or reconstruct someone else's pattern.
- Affiliate transparency. Any affiliate link is marked as one, right next to the link. See our affiliate disclosure.
CrochetSmith is a work in progress, built one page at a time. If you have a question, a correction, or something to share, the contact page reaches us directly.
