What this hook set is

Instead of a drawer of separate hooks in different sizes, this set uses one electronic handle with interchangeable hook heads. The handle holds the digital stitch-and-row counter, the light and the battery; the 17 hook heads are the only part that changes size. That is a different way of organising a hook collection, not necessarily a better one: a conventional set gives you a dedicated hook for every size with nothing to swap, while a system like this concentrates the electronics into a single shared handle and asks you to change the head instead.

How the stitch and row counter works

The handle has a small digital display and controls for two separate counts, labelled S (stitches) and R (rows). In the product photography, clicking a button increases the relevant count by one, holding it briefly decreases it, and holding it longer resets it to zero; a third button turns the light on. We have not used the set ourselves, so we cannot say how accurate, reliable or easy this is in practice over a full project.

The interchangeable hook system

The set includes 17 hook heads covering 2.5 mm to 14.0 mm, a broad span that reaches from fine thread work up to very bulky yarn. That range covers most patterns, but check the specific sizes included against what you actually use before buying — a wide range is not the same as having every size you personally reach for, and a pattern's stated hook size should still be your guide, not this set's range.

Built-in light

The handle includes an LED at the working end, which the manufacturer describes as having two brightness modes. Its purpose, as documented, is to illuminate the stitches you are working into. We are not making a claim about how much it helps in practice, such as reducing mistakes or eye strain, since that is not something we have tested.

Ergonomics and grip

The manufacturer positions the shaped, wider handle as an ergonomic feature. Comfort is highly individual, however, and a larger electronic handle will feel very different from a conventional aluminium, steel or slim-handled crochet hook. Anyone used to a thin hook should expect an adjustment, positive or negative, rather than assume the larger handle will automatically suit their grip.
