Cloud Beanie
A soft, seamless top-down hat in half double crochet, in three baby sizes, with a snug ribbed-look brim.

Materials
- DK (light worsted) baby-soft yarn: about 40 g for newborn, 50 g for 0–3 months, 60 g for 3–6 months
- 4.0 mm crochet hook
- Stitch marker, yarn needle, scissors
- Optional: pompom maker
Gauge
About 14 hdc × 11 rows = 10 cm (4 in). The flat crown circle should measure about 9.5 cm (newborn), 10.8 cm (0–3 months) or 12 cm (3–6 months) across before you start working the sides. If yours is smaller, go up a hook size. If it is larger, go down.
Sizing. Newborn: head 32–35 cm, hat about 30 cm around. 0–3 months: head 36–39 cm, hat about 34 cm around. 3–6 months: head 40–43 cm, hat about 38 cm around. The hat stretches comfortably.
Worked in a spiral without joining. Use a stitch marker to mark the first stitch of each round.

Brim
Ch 1. Sc in every stitch around, sl st to the first sc to join (40, 48 or 56 sts). Repeat for 3 rounds in total. On the last round, sl st in every stitch around for a tidy edge. Fasten off and weave in the ends.
