Ridge Cushion Cover
A textured cover for a 40 cm cushion. Every row is worked in the back loops only, which builds soft horizontal ridges.
Materials
- Worsted (Aran) yarn: about 350 g (approx. 550 m / 600 yd)
- 5.0 mm crochet hook
- A 40 × 40 cm cushion insert
- Yarn needle, scissors, stitch markers, 1 button (optional)
Gauge
14 hdc × 11 rows = 10 cm (4 in), in back loops only. Work a swatch to check.
Ch 2 at the start of a row does not count as a stitch. Work the first hdc of each row into the same stitch as the chain.
The back is made of two overlapping flaps, so you do not need a zip.

Assembly
Lay the front panel right side up. Lay the two flaps on top, right sides down, so they overlap by about 10 cm in the middle and the edges line up with the front. Pin. Working through both layers, sc evenly around all four sides, with 3 sc in each corner, and sl st to join. Turn the cover right side out through the opening between the flaps. Insert the cushion. If you like, sew a button to the outer flap as a finishing detail.
